Pegasus is the only winged horse that can fly. He is immortal and has supernatural powers. He has free passage from the mortal realm to the immortal realm. Wherever his hoof struck the earth he created beautiful springs of water that could inspire artists. Pegasus sprang from the neck of the beheaded Gorgon Medusa. Perseus killed Medusa by cutting off Medusa's head without turning to stone.
