Vintage Seductions

"Vintage Seductions" originates from a simple, everyday gesture: hanging intimate garments out to dry.
Yet this act carries a symbolic weight that crosses cultures and historical periods.
The way bodies, beauty, and sexuality are understood is neither universal nor fixed; it shifts according to place and time.
In the past, a woman who publicly displayed her underwear could be judged, observed, or misunderstood. At the same time, those fabrics (suspended in the air, moving in the sunlight) could become objects of projection, imagination, and desire.

Today we live immersed in an overload of explicit and standardized sexual imagery, readily available and endlessly repeated. This constant exposure can dull perception and make it harder to access a personal, autonomous erotic imagination. 
Vintage seductions moves in the opposite direction, choosing suggestion over display: light transparencies, absences, and subtle traces that invite the viewer to slow down and imagine.

To create this Polaroid, I hung slips and hold-up stockings on tree branches, in different places around the small village where I live.
The action introduced a gentle disruption into everyday life: cars slowed down, passersby stopped, watching with curiosity.
I like to imagine them returning home and telling the story of the strange woman wandering through the fields with slips and stockings, building unusual Christmas trees.
Perhaps, if only for a moment, something was set in motion… a pause, a question, a spark of curiosity beyond ready-made fantasies.
