Photography, a timeless passion
Photography has always been with me.
The 1970s: Armed with my Kodak Pocket Instamatic 100, I captured my childhood world, frozen in time, through my photographs. The 1980s: With my Pentax K1000 and a roll of 36 black and white exposures, my vision became more refined. Why black and white? Its powerful contrast has always fascinated me. I then became more seriously involved in photography, particularly street photography, immortalizing my city, Sherbrooke. Abandoned buildings, bustling streets, neighborhood festivals... everything became a source of inspiration. Photographing became a necessity, a way to preserve memories, events, faces, and places that I feared would fade over time. Self-taught, I worked alongside great Sherbrooke photographers who encouraged me to deepen my knowledge and refine my vision. Then came the digital age. I resisted it at first, then gradually embraced it.
The 2000s: a new phase. I gradually abandoned film photography, captivated by digital technology. 2011: a return to my roots. I rediscovered film photography and immersed myself in the fascinating world of Lomography. This movement celebrates imperfection, instinct, and creative freedom. It inspired me to reconnect with film photography from a new perspective. This alternative approach ultimately led me to a revelation: the instantaneous quality of the Polaroid. It was a journey through time, an exploration of a process little known to me.
Since 2011, Polaroid has occupied almost exclusively my photographic work. As a member of the Nantes-based Expolaroid group (France) since 2013, I strive to promote this unique technique. My works have been exhibited in Quebec, France, and Italy. Through my research and experimentation, I master this medium, each image of which carries a precious uniqueness. Over the years, I shape and transform my images, following my creativity and passion for photography.
